Fully 80% of all cars and scooters (millions of them) I saw last spring in China were ev...a number of different brands. I rode in several--great tech. The Chinese government supported competition among many startups, and the result has been innovation. And did I mention how inexpensive these Chinese evs are compared to the horrendously priced cars available to Americans???
BTW, I drive an ev---it's wonderful not having to fill up. But it (Ioniq) has a selling price at least twice that of the Chinese evs.
In the course of my travels last year I rented a BYD Seal U (a PHEV) in Southampton, England, a Peugeot 5008 in Dublin and a Mercedes GLC in Edinburgh. My impressions: the Mercedes was meh and the Peugeot was great, better than anything Stellantis sells on our side of the Atlantic. The BYD? I WANT ONE. Comfort, fit and finish, performance and fuel economy were outstanding.
In your suggested talking points with Xi, you might say something about wind and solar. Screw the environment and global weirding; the critical issue here is keeping the lights on while feeding those massive data factories.
Oh, and for what it’s worth: when the spelling auto-correct feature on my I Pad flagged Stellantis, it suggested Staleness.
This is the worst idea. We had EV cars but Trump killed with new rules and regulations. Ford, GM closed and wrote off all the investments in EV. Lucid....all elctric car is fighting for its life even after they have had best EV in the market.Trump knows how to destroy..he has no abilit to build unless it greases his pocket book.
