The AI boom is dependent on continuing supplies of advanced silicon chips. Making those chips is dependent on a continuing supply of helium. A large fraction of the world's supply of helium goes through the Straits of Hormuz. So maybe AI isn't going to provide an impetus to the economy.
I suspect that Trump was so surprised by the success in seizing Maduro - an incredibly fast extraction - that he then deluded himself into thinking "I can do this all day". Despite the military saying it wouldn't be the same in Iran. And Trump's sychophantic circle - a hall of mirrors - merely nodded "you are so right!" that merely on vote-counting he decided to execute.
But where were Luttnick and Warsh are at least smart enough to not have known. And while almost all Rs in Congress were kept in the dark, most of them support Trump's policies, despite its clear trashing of an previously healthy economy and their own political support.

Although the everyday bad news coming out of this administration is spirit breaking, I think what Hegseth and Trump are saying about the war is shattering. They lie about every aspect of the economy, e.g., inflation is coming down, people are prosperous once again, etc. Then they tell us the war is going just great, and I start to worry that we may be headed into a nationwide depression or even world war based on the lies they tell. And although the people elected him, most knowing his character and limited intellectual ability, it was the GOP Senate that allowed him to select people like Hegseth. We have to keep reminding folks what this crooked Senate did to us.
